Colkirk and Sculthorpe Church of England Primary Academies and Little Snoring Community Primary Academy

Welcome to Colkirk Primary Academy

Colkirk School is a Church of England Primary Academy.

This means that the Board of Governors comprises representatives of the Church, Diocese of Norwich Education and Academy Trust (DNEAT), the Parish Councils and Parents.

The present school dates back to the 1847. Since then many additions have happened including new classrooms and remodelling of the interior and grounds of the school to make it modern and appealing.

We admit children from Colkirk, Oxwick, Pudding Norton and Fakenham.

We have links with  local preschools and take children from Ladybirds, Little Angels and Fakenham Children’s Day Care Centre. We also have a link with the Children's Centre in Fakenham.

In September 2014, the school entered into a Federation agreement with Sculthorpe CE VA Primary and West Raynham CE VA Primary Schools (forming the Unity Federation of Church Schools). Little Snoring Community Primary Academy also joined the Federation in August 2018.

All schools are managed by one Executive Headteacher. Miss Suzannah Hayes divides her time between the three schools. Each school has Head of School; this person is in charge when Miss Hayes is off-site.

There are many advantages to being in federation, including:

The benefits of being part of DNEAT, include:

How we work:

The school from September 2015 is divided into three classes (Seashells, Seaturtles and Seahorses) each taught by a qualified teacher and /or a HLTA, most are supported by Teaching Assistants.

Some of our Teaching Assistants work with SEN children and other work within the whole class environment. All are at least NVQ 3 trained.

Our class sizes are around 19-26 pupils per class (roughly 10 pupils less than most larger primary schools locally).

Behaviour:

In our academy it is important we promote and encourage the best possible behaviour of everyone who is associated with it.

As part of our work with Pivotal Behaviour we have trained all staff to develop meaningful strategies to work with everyone in a supportive way in our academy.

As part of this work we have a Behaviour Blueprint that everyone follows (this compliments our Behaviour Policy and Academy Rules).
