Little Snoring Community Primary Academy is a small, nurturing school serving the village of Little Snoring and the surrounding area. We provide education for children aged 4 to 11 and are proud to be part of the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT). The school converted to academy status on 1st August 2018, following a successful Ofsted inspection. In 2025, we were delighted to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, recognising our commitment to high standards, inclusive values, and a strong sense of community.
Our School Site
We are located three miles east of Fakenham, on the edge of Little Snoring village, overlooking open farmland. Our site blends historic charm with modern facilities:
- A large extension opened in 2005 includes a sports and arts hall, two classrooms, accessible toilet facilities, a changing room, quiet room, and offices.
- The original Victorian building links seamlessly and houses a classroom, library, resource room, and staffroom.
- The entire school site is a designated no-smoking/no-vaping zone.
Outdoor Learning & Play
Our outdoor spaces are designed to inspire exploration, creativity, and a deep connection with nature. We believe that learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom — it thrives in fresh air and open spaces.
- Landscaped playgrounds feature marked courts, games, and seating areas that encourage active play and social interaction.
- Our half-acre playing field is used seasonally for football, rounders, athletics, and other team sports.
- We offer opportunities for outdoor learning across all year groups,
including a dedicated permanent outdoor classroom for our EYFS/KS1 class. - Children also benefit from specialist-led sessions, such as bushcraft activities, which build resilience, teamwork, and a love of the natural world.
These experiences help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility for their environment — all while having fun.
Learning Environment
We have three mixed-age classes, each taught by a qualified teacher and supported by skilled Teaching Assistants. Some TAs work with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), while others support learning across the classroom.
Our small class sizes — typically 20–30 pupils — allow us to build strong relationships with every child. We take time to understand each pupil’s strengths, interests, and learning style, creating a personalised and engaging experience for all.
Classrooms are arranged to promote collaboration and creativity, with vibrant displays celebrating children’s work. We want every child and member of staff to enjoy a pleasant, purposeful working environment.
House Teams & Community
Our four house teams — Nature, Church, Airfield, and Farming — reflect the rich heritage and environment of our local area. These teams promote teamwork, leadership, and friendly competition across year groups. We’re especially grateful for regular visits from Reverend Robin, whose storytelling and presence bring warmth and reflection to our school life.
Wider Learning Opportunities
Learning at Little Snoring goes beyond the classroom. We regularly take
part in visits to places in our local area, both as a school and in collaboration with other schools in our Federation. These experiences help children connect their learning to the wider world, spark curiosity, and deepen their understanding of the community and environment around them.
Behaviour & Ethos
We believe in celebrating children’s greatness — in effort, kindness, and achievement. Our Behaviour Blueprint sets clear expectations and supports a positive, respectful culture for everyone in our academy. [Click here to view our Behaviour Blueprint]
